The final props that we decided to use were originally the few we wanted to use. We felt that the few props we wanted to use in the beginning of the planning were sufficient in telling our story.
One of the first props we needed was a laptop. Luckily one of the actors had a MAC laptop that we could use to film with. This meant that we could create a virtual desktop in which we could have a popup virus appear. This is obviously how he had lost all of his money. We liked the idea of using a MAC laptop as it has connotations of wealth and that it shows he has a bit of money - which is why he would probably be a target for cyber crime.
The second prop that we wanted to use was was a Windows PC which had two monitors. The reason that we had wanted this is to express the knowledge of the hacker and make her setup look more impressive. We also thought that having more than one monitor meant that we could make her scene look a lot more technical by having multiple different applications open - such as the attack map and a terminal.
Another prop that we decided to use was a mobile phone. We wanted a text to show up - which indicated that something was wrong with his bank account. We didn't just want his bank account to change. We felt that this would have been to hard to film and setup on the computer. The use of the text message instead meant that we would only have to send a text to the characters phone.
We also decided that we wanted to use was a cup. The way this was used was that the character would drink coffee from it. this was to connote that he was hard at work but as well that he was a bit stressed. the other purpose of the mug was to emphasis his reaction when he found that he had no money in his bank account. This was done by him spitting out the coffee he had in his mouth, to show the pure shock.
